Jul 19, 2018

Dr. Cristina Canal and PhD student Inès Hamouda attended the 4th International Society for Biomedical Polymers and Polymeric Biomaterials (ISBPPB) conference and exposition in Krakow (Poland) as speakers, held on July 15-18, 2018.

Dr. Cristina Canal and PhD student Inès Hamouda, both members of the PlasmaMed lab, speakers at the 4th International Society for Biomedical Polymers and Polymeric Biomaterials (ISBPPB) conference and exposition in Krakow (Poland), held on July 15-18, 2018.

Dr. Canal presented her work on "Cold atmospheric plasma generation and quantification of reactive oxygen and nitrogen species in biocompatible hydrogels" (C. Labay, I. Hamouda, M.-P. Ginebra, C. Canal), while Hamouda showed her results on the "Modification of alginate based-hydrogel for therapeutical applications using cold atmospheric plasma" (I. Hamouda, C. Labay, M.-P. Ginebra, C. Canal).

The Conference sessions included topics such as controlled release systems, drug delivery systems, antimicrobial polymers, biodegradable polymers and copolymers, tissue engineering, and many others.
