PlasmAccelerate, led by Cristina Canal, received an Innovadors Grant in the 2024 Indústria del Coneixement-call.
The project focuses on advancing the product and business development of our patented Plasma-Treated Hydrogels technology. These biocompatible and injectable hydrogels are designed to fill surgical cavities after tumor resection, eliminating residual cancer cells and helping to prevent local relapse. The technology has demonstrated synergistic effects with current systemic therapies, such as chemotherapy, enhancing its therapeutic potential. The project was presented during the event by Adrià Barceló.
The roject participated in the one-year Indústria del Coneixement support programme, led by TopBrands, which helped with the advancement of its technology readiness. The programme provided strategic guidance in intellectual property, regulatory pathways, and business development, as well as support for validation through preclinical assays.
