Rachel LeBlanc, new UPC's PhD representative at Unite! Alliance

Nov 17, 2025

PlasmaMED lab member Rachel LeBlanc has been recently appointed as one of the three UPC's PhD students representative at Unite! alliance.

Unite! is an alliance of nine technical universities (one of which is UPC) across Europe that aims to foster innovation, sustainability, and collaboration in research, technology, and education.

Within Unite!, there is a student group (SURE!) aimed at representing students’ interests and voices in the alliance. PhD student Rachel LeBlanc has been recently appointed as one of the three UPC's PhD representative at the alliance.

In Rachel words, "as one of the representatives, I get the opportunity to bring ideas and concerns of the UPC student body to Unite! leaders to ensure that alliance activities and endeavors reflect the true needs of our students". But the representation is both ways, since she tells us that "on the flip-side, it is also my goal to raise awareness about Unite! within the UPC community so that students can take advantage of all that our alliance has to offer them in terms of education, mobility, and collaboration. And, as a PhD student, I specifically hope to help in alliance actions for doctoral students and maintain my peers well-informed of the resources provided by Unite!".

Rachel LeBlanc will remain as a representative until the end of her PhD grant with us, about 2 years from now.
