Dr. Inès Hamouda has been the first PhD. student to complete her PhD as member of the PlasmaMed Lab. Her Thesis was based on the "Synthesis and characterization of plasma-treated liquids and hydrogels for bone cancer therapy" and co-directed by Dr. Cristina Canal and Dr. Cèdric Labay.
The Sant Joan de Déu Research Institute (IRSJD), the only research center in Catalonia focused on research in pediatric medicine, has been recognized as a CERCA center. This recognition involves the development of frontier research for a higher scientific and economic impact and the improvement of social and individual well-being. The BBT is part of the IRSJD through the CREB-UPC, of which it is a member.
