The Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics (IOPscience) has recently published "The 2022 Plasma Roadmap: low temperature plasma science and technology", as part of a series of Plasma Roadmaps, with the intent to identify important outstanding challenges in the field of low-temperature plasma (LTP) physics and technology. Dr. Cristina Canal has been one of the 41 leading experts to settle this Roadmap.
Dr. Cristina Canal has joined Dr. Daniela Boehm at Technical University Dublin (Ireland) for a Short Term Scientific Mission (STSM), funded by COST Action PlasTHER.
Dr. Cristina Canal and Dr. Francesco Tampieri have recently presented their work at the 9th Central European Symposium on Plasma Chemistry (CESPC9), held together with COST Action CA19110 "Plasma Applications for Smart and Sustainable Agriculture (PlAgri)" in Slovakia, from the 4th to the 9th of September, 2022.
PhD student Milica Zivanic has joined the CORE - Center for Oncological Research of the University of Antwerpern (Belgium) for a 1.5-month research stay under the supervision of Dr. Abraham Lin.
Marwa Balaha recently joined the PlasmaMED lab for a 1,5-month Short Term Scientific Mission (STSM), funded by PlasTher COST Action CA20114.
Dr. Albert Espona has just renurned from a Short Term Scientific Mission (STSM) at the Center for Oncological Research of the University of Antwerpern, in Belgium.
Dr. Cristina Canal has been awarded with a PLEC project by Agencia Estatal de Investigación (AEI) to develop her project Plasma4KidsCancer: Cold plasma at atmospheric pressure: a physical therapy for the global management of pediatric bone cancer, together with Spanish company Ion Biotech and the Centro Nacional Instituto Nacional de Investigación y Tecnología Agraria y Alimentaria (INIA, CSIC).
PlasmaMed Lab leader, Dr. Cristina Canal, and Dr. Judit Buxadera were both Invited Speakers at the 2nd Training School “Cold plasmas to fight microorganisms, viruses & toxins for medical and agricultural applications”, jointly organized by PlasTHER CA20114 and PlAGri CA19110 COST Actions. The Training School was a hybrid event, held in Bari (Italy), from February 13th – 16th, 2023.
Dr. Francesco Tampieri has joined Prof. María C García Martínez at the Department of Applied Physics (Universidad de Córdoba) for a short scientific stay associated with the AEI funded project Plasma4KidsCancer.
PlasmaMed Lab's PhD student Milica Živanić, awarded with Best Oral Presentation at the 8th International Workshop on Plasma for Cancer Treatment - IWPCT 2023, held in Raileigh (North Carolina, USA).
