Dr. Milica Živanić presented her doctoral thesis "Cold plasma-treated hydrogels for multimodal cancer therapy", co-directed by Dr. Cristina Canal, Dr. Albert Espona, Dr. Annemie Bogaerts and Dr. Abraham Lin, on April 4th, 2025.
The Final Meeting of the PlasTHER COST Action took place in Barcelona from the 17th to 20th June 2025. Organized by members of the PlasmaMED Lab, the meeting was a crucial moment for members of the Action to meet each other, wrap up the main oblectives of the project and continue building up their community and keep improving the performance of plasma therapies for the benefit of the patients.
For the second time, representatives of the PlasmaMED Lab team travel to Boston to attend the final workshop of the IDEA2 program by MIT (Boston, USA). IDEA2 is a 6-month mentorship program to develop healthcare technology ideas with highly potential impact for society on a path to market.
PlasmaMED Lab, in collaboration with the Center for Oncological Research (CORE) - University of Antwerp (Belgium), recently published a new study in Advanced Functional Materials, where they investigate plasma-treated, chemotherapy-loaded hydrogels as a new alternative to treat cancer locally.
